Dear Valued Customer,
What a month it’s been! Not only did it fly by but all of us here at Vero Marine Center have been on life’s rollercoaster for a ride that’s been second to none! We have so many good things to be thankful for and we have been reminded often this month.
August started off with a bang at a very upbeat and successful Hurricane Dealer Meeting. This annual event was hosted in Elkhart, Indiana and was very well attended by dealers from all across the country. I’m happy to report that there was much good news. Most dealers, including us were reporting a better 2010 and there was relief and even a bit of confidence in the air! 2011 marks our 11th model year representing the Hurricane line and these versatile family boats continue to be an important part of our business. We look forward to yet another good year with this fun line of boats. Next we were off to the Grady White Dealer Conference and as always it was informative, educational and enjoyable. There really is no other group of people quite like the folks at Grady White. Their honesty, innovation and passion for boating is the reason they continue to win awards and be regarded as the best in the business. In the awards department I’m pleased to announce that Vero Marine Center is the PROUD recipient of the Grady White Admiral’s Circle Award! This most prestigious award is based on sales volume and more importantly customer satisfaction scores. This year marks our 7th year as Admiral Circle Winners as well as our 10th year as winners of the Service Excellence Award. We are all extremely proud and owe you all a thank you for filling out and returning the surveys that Grady White sends out!
In these challenging times we have all been tested in so many ways and the crew here at “The Busy Marina” continues to pass the test. A customer recently told me that in all of his many years as a boater he is most impressed with our STAYING POWER! Not only did he mean our duration as a service center and boat dealership, but our dedicated and loyal crew. This really hits home with me. We have a truly sincere hard working group of folks here and as a result we have stood the test of time. Fifty-three continuous years of service is something very unique in today’s world and we are extremely thankful and proud.
With September upon us we can’t forget that we are in the peak of hurricane season. It’s time to be prepared and keep a watchful weather eye. We have managed to squeeze more boats than ever before into our warehouses and have “tightened up” around the marina. So far our friends the sea turtles have been forecasting good things and we hope their weather predicting skills continue!
As we approach Labor Day weekend remember to practice safe boating. With the awesome boating weather we’ve been having I expect traffic on the river to be up. Keep an eye out for the other guy and be prepared for increased law enforcement. Make sure your safety gear is in order! We have competitive prices on anything you may need, so stop in our Ship’s Store if we can help! We will be closed on Monday, September 6th for the Labor Day holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, September 7th. Maybe we’ll see you out on the river!
I think anyone who knows us understands that we enjoy what we do and we hope our love of the water is contagious. We are lucky to represent great boat and motor companies and to have a sincerely interested sales staff to help you choose the right boat for your boating dreams. Our service department is dedicated and we have a hard working crew that can handle any task from routine maintenance to bottom painting to electronics installations and re-powers. We’re ready and looking forward to helping you have fun on the water!
Many of you visit our website (www.veromarine.com) and we appreciate you checking it out. It’s a great central location for information and fun updates on all things Vero Marine Center. We recently jumped on the Facebook bandwagon and have started building that page as well. This page is more social and is loaded with great photos and even a “chronicle” of this past July’s Bahamas Grady Bunch trip. So check it out and be our “friend” won’t you?
Many of you know that we have had some not so good news around here lately and I can’t let it go unmentioned. On August 21st we lost Maria Starratt, wife of Pete Starratt one of our top men around here for over 20 years. Our hearts and sympathies go out to Pete, daughter Ali and their families. Maria will be missed by all of us. Our prayers are also with the MacIntyre family. Some of you may be aware of Jackie’s condition and we hope and pray for the best. The message in this month’s quote sure rings true around here.
In closing, we extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our friends and customers for your continued business and support. We look forward to seeing you all on the water!
Happy Boating,
Brian Cunningham
P.S. Later this month many of you will be receiving a letter from our service department in regards to prepping your boat for your return this fall. Please let us know your plans and we’ll make sure to have your boat ready for you when you need it!
